How a trade-in works

There is no charge for a valuation and no obligation to go ahead with one. The figure we send is written, dated and valid for a stated period, so you can plan around it.

You send the details

The form below. Chassis number, mileage and honest condition notes matter most — they are what a valuation actually rests on.

You add photographs

Front, rear, both sides, interior, engine bay and the odometer. Upload them in small batches once the request is saved, so nothing is lost if one file is too large.

We value it

Usually within two business days. Where the figure depends on something we need to see, we will arrange a short inspection in Kingston or come to you.

You decide

Accept and the value comes off your invoice as a credit, or take the offer away and think about it. Either is a normal outcome.

What we need from you

Certificate of title in your name, or the hire-purchase details if there is finance outstanding
Valid fitness certificate and current registration
Service records where you have them — they move the figure up more often than they move it down
Both keys, the spare wheel and the tools, if the vehicle still has them

We cannot complete a trade-in on a vehicle with unsettled finance until the lien is cleared — tell us about it on the form and we will work out the order of events with you

Everything except the starred fields is optional, but the more you tell us the tighter the figure. Your details are used for this valuation and nothing else.

A trade-in transfers the vehicle out of your name, so we need your TRN, address and parish on the sales agreement exactly as we would on an import. All three are saved to your customer record and prefilled next time; your TRN is shown only to our Accounts and Management staff.
